ROMANOV FAMILY: RARE 1900 EASTER PROCESSION VIDEO
Easter procession of the Romanov family: Tsar Nicholas II, Empress Alexandra, their eldest daughter Grand Duchess Olga and the extended Romanov family and the court. They are walking down the Parade Staircase of the Moscow Kremlin on Palm Sunday (on April 2, 1900).
The footage contains a very unique snippet of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich – Nicholas II’s uncle who was assassinated less than 5 years later- with his wife the Grand Duchess Elisabeth Feodorovna (Ella), Empress Alexandra’s sister. The young boy is Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich, who was involved in the Rasputin murder 6 years later.
