From the 1916 diary of Maria Romanov: “7 July. Arrived in Mogilev. Papa and Aleksei came [to meet us]. Had breakfast all together. Rode in a motor boat across the Dnepr to the other bank…”   “11 July. Went to molebna… Went upstream on the Dnepr in a motor boat, swam 4 with Isa 17 deg.[rees].”   “28 July… Sailed on the Dnepr on The Desna…”   “28 August. Went to Obednya… Went up the Dnepr in a ferry. Later, Papa and I rowed, while Count Grabbe was behind wheel…”
