This ring belonged to Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. It was presented to her in 1914 by an officer from her own 5th Hussar  Alexandria Regiment.   The skull and bones  (Adam’s head) was the emblem of the regiment and symbol of immortality in pre-Revolutionary Russia. This symbol was often used in Russian Imperial Army.
