From the 1916 diary of Tatiana Romanov:

Monday, 16 May. In the morning arrived in Evpatoria. Went to the cathedral for moleben, from there to a mosque, then to the Karaite temple . Went to Mama’s sanatorium. Rita was there, a lot of the wounded and many of ours. Examined everything, then stopped by a small infirmary. Breakfast on the train. In the afternoon went to Anya’s dacha . Rita was there too. Sat on a marvelous beach near the sea, hunted for seashells. Had tea on her balcony. Returned at 6 o’clock. All our wounded were at the train station. Sat at home. Had dinner with everyone. At 9 o’clock walked with Papa along the Sarabuz station. Left Anya there. Later sat with Mama. – Terribly sad to leave the Crimea, the sea, the sailors and the ships!
