ON THIS DATE IN THEIR OWN WORDS: NICHOLAS II – 11 MARCH, 1913.
From the 1913 diary of Nicholas II:
11th March. Monday. The entire day was quiet and foggy. Between reports received Delkasse, [who was] appointed here as an ambassador. At 2 1/2 the second naval recruits review took place on the Palace Square. They came from Revel and Sveaborg – from a brigade of cruisers and the Battleship Brigade. They presented as fine lads. Walked for a bit. At 4 1/2 Georgiy arrived; had tea with him. Read a lot. In the evening, out loud.
