TATIANA ROMANOV: RUMORS OF ESCAPE

DID YOU KNOW?

As most of you are aware, Grand Duchess Anastasia is the member of Russian imperial family whose myth of escape became very well known around the world (mostly due to the most successful “claimant” Anna Anderson).

But during the time of captivity of the Romanov family, as well as shortly after their murder, Grand Duchess Tatiana was actually the one who was rumored to have escaped!

ROMANOV FAMILY REMAINS: BURIAL CEREMONY (1998)

In hopeful anticipation that the Romanov family will be reunited in burial sooner rather than later, here are some footage excerpts from their 1998 burial ceremony at  Peter & Paul Fortress in St Petersburg.   May the two children join their family soon, as I am sure all of them would have wanted!

By the time I started working on Grand Duchess Tatiana’s letters and diaries, I had already completed numerous translations of the personal writings of other members of the Romanov family, and as a result was already familiar with their manner of expression, the idioms they used, and so on. ROMANOV FAMILY: BEST ON-SCREEN PORTRAYAL

ROMANOV FAMILY: BEST ON-SCREEN PORTRAYAL

So many movies have been made about the Romanov family, both in Russia and the West. But  to me, not one of these movies captured the essence of the Romanovs as  well as “Romanovy: Ventzenosnaya Sem’ya” (“Romanovs: The Imperial Family”).  I especially love the actress who played Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna.

Below are some of best scenes from this film (and link to the full movie too).
