But  to me, not one of these movies captured the essence of the Romanovs as  well as “Romanovy: Ventzenosnaya Sem’ya” (“Romanovs: The Imperial Family”).  I especially love the actress who played Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna.

“THE FALL OF THE ROMANOFFS”: A lost film based on the life of Romanov family and Grigori Rasputin during the year just prior the Russian Revolution. The film was released in 1917, BEFORE the execution of the Romanov family. Nance O’Neill starred as Empress Alexandra, Alfred Hickman as Tsar Nicholas II and Edward Connelly as Rasputin.
