From the 1916 diary of Alexei Romanov:

“19 August. Had 2 lessons in the morning. Wrote to Mama before breakfast and took a walk. Had breakfast with everyone in the tent. In the afternoon rode down the Dniepr. In the evening listened to Sig’s reading and studied with P.V.P. Went to bed early-ish.”
