For the boy – the Dove- the Son,
For the young Tsarevich Alexei
Pray, oh pious Russia!
Wipe his angelic eyes,
Remember how on the ground fell
The Uglich dove – Dimitri.
You’re so loving, Mother Russia!
Oh, is it possible that you won’t have enough
Of loving grace – for him?
For the sins of the father do not punish the son.
May peasant Russia save
The lamb of Tsarskoe Selo – Alexei!
