ON THIS DATE IN THEIR OWN WORDS: MARIA ROMANOV- 30 AUGUST, 1916.
From the 1916 diary of Maria Romanov:
30 August. Went to Obednya. At breakfast sat with Uncle Georgi and Dmitri. Went to the same place in motorboats. Children from the city garden were playing there. Returned during a rain storm. Had tea at Papa’s. Went to [see] a cinematograph, the continuation of “Mystery of Nogork” and others. Had dinner 4 with Papa and Mama, Dmitri, Anya and Kiki.
