ROMANOV FAMILY: ON THIS DATE IN THEIR OWN WORDS. TATIANA ROMANOV. 12 JULY, 1916.
From the 1916 diary of Tatiana Romanov (Military Headquarters, Mogilev):
“Tuesday, 12 July. … Mama and the sisters came and we went to eat breakfast with Papa on the balcony. It is raining. Later 4 went with Papa in the motor out of Mogilev to a very beautiful place. Got out and walked in the woods. Very nice. The rain stopped. Walked with Papa and Prince Eristov. Others were there. Returned at 5 o’clock. All had tea at Papa’s in the dining room. Aleksei got up, 36.8. At 5.40 we all drove to the train. Said goodbye to everyone and departed. Very sad to leave Papa and Aleksei. It was so nice to be with them these few days… “
