From the 1916 diary of Tatiana Romanov:

Saturday, 22 October. In the morning [we] two went with Mama to “Znamenie”, from there – to the infirmary. Took photographs in two stages in the sitting room, since last time the pictures did not come out. Later dressings for Syroboyarsky, Bogdanov. The others – Mama. Also took photographs in three other wards. In between sat with Volodya in the hallway. Later played bloshki [tiddlywinks] with Volodya, Petrov and Lieutenant Girs. Later the lieutenant had gone and was replaced by – Prince Eristov. Then said goodbye to Volodya. It was so sad, he and seven more are going to the Crimea today, Bogdanov, Vinogradov, Galakhov, Pavlov, Jurgenson, Kamensky, Motsidarsky. Breakfast with Papa , Mama and Gavriil. Walked in the afternoon. Mama – in a small equipage [carriage]. Read. Had tea with Papa and Mama. Went to Vsenoshnaya. Met up with Yuzik’s brother. Had dinner with the same [people] as breakfast. After went to say goodbye to Alexei and little Makarov, Zhenya and Lyolya. They came to visit Alexei yesterday. Spent the night with us and were together all day, and will spend another night again today. Sat at Mama’s downstairs. Worked. Anya was here. Then Papa came.
