ROMANOV FAMILY REMAINS: UNIQUE PHOTO OF EXHUMATION OF ALEXANDER III

For those of you following the Romanov remains saga, this is a very unique photograph of the exhumation of the tomb of Tsar Alexander III at the St Peter & Paul Cathedral.

Samples from Alexander III’s  remains will be compared to the genetic material of his son, Tsar Nicholas II, in order to (hopefully) resolve the long lasting dispute about the Romanov remains, and bury the two younger Romanov children: Grand Duchess Maria and Tsarevich Alexei.

ROMANOV FAMILY REMAINS UPDATE: SAMPLES FROM ALEXANDER III NOW IN POSSESSION OF SCIENTISTS

Genetic samples from the remains of Tsar Alexander III have been transferred to several laboratories for comparison with the remains of his son Nicholas II.

The remains of two younger children of the last Russian Tsar, Grand Duchess Maria and Tsarevich Alexei, will be buried at the beginning of next year – according to the director of the Russian State Archives Sergei Mironenko.

Members of the committee of the Ekaterinburg street naming decided to rename the street to Tsarskaya.  On this street once stood the house of engineer Ipatiev once stood – where the entire Russian imperial family and their servants had been murdered in 1918. On the same spot the Cathedral  on the Spilled Blood had been erected at the turn of the 21st century. The new street name is a tribute to the murdered Romanov family, according to participants of the meeting.  The decision to rename the entire street or only a segment of it will be based on a survey of local citizens.

Earlier this week, the tomb of Tsar Alexander had once again been opened at the Peter & Paul Cathedral,  said a source familiar with the situation. Entrance to the Cathedral for the congregation was closed off and guarded by the police.

In recent weeks, preparations for the opening of the tomb of Alexander III were taking place. The opening began a few days ago.  Samples of the remains of Russian Tsar Alexander III, father of Nicholas II, will be obtained and shipped from St. Petersburg to Moscow for genetic research as soon as possible.

ROMANOV FAMILY: Tsar Alexander I – Was He Monk Feodor Kuzmich?

The identity of Romanov family remains is not the only controversial subject in the headlines these days. Another Romanov tsar, Alexander I, is also the subject of a renewed identity controversy.

Having recently examined original writings, President of Russian Graphology Society Svetlana Semyonova stated that the handwriting of Tsar Alexander I and that of the “Holy Staretz” Feodor Kuzmich of  Tomsk has “absolute similarity” and belong to the same person . How legitimate is this conclusion? The answer to this question comes from Alexander Arkhangelsky, a Ph.D. and author of the biography of Alexander I.

Is Russian Orthodox Church “not convinced remains in tomb of Alexander III are his”?

Vladimir Soloviev, the head of the Committee of the Investigation of the murders of the Romanov family has been replaced. The new head is Igor Krasnov, Acting Head of the Main Investigation Department of the TFR.  According to sources, the decision was made at the insistence of the Patriarchate management.

These recent personnel changes are undoubtedly a blow to Soloviev, who has reportedly been a “long-time eyesore to the Church,” and whom they “are now trying to push out of the game completely.”  Sources of this information do not exclude the possibility that this replacement may be followed by the removal of a number of experts engaged by Soloviev, and accordingly by retention of new ones recommended by the Church instead.
